Microsoft Entra Rollout

Page will be continually updated with the latest information as they are made availabe.

On September 22, TNTP will transition from Okta to Microsoft Entra – the identity platform behind Microsoft 365. This change is designed to simplify staff sign-in, improve integration across Microsoft and non-Microsoft applications and services, and enhance overall security.

All staff (full-time and part-time employees) should be aware that this update only affects the sign-in and authentication process, and how you access apps. Your access to apps, files, and services will remain unchanged.

This transition reflects Technology's ongoing commitment to making things easier and more secure for all employees, while upholding our commitment to the Secure Future Initiative (more on this initiative in FY26-Q2). Please review the Key Dates and Timeline, Staff Readiness Actions, What Is Not Changing, and Support and Help Resources sections – in their entirety, to clearly understand your responsibilities and help ensure a seamless start on September 22.

Staff Readiness Actions

    SEPTEMBER 19

  • Check your personal email inbox on Friday, September 19 for an email from TNTP Tech Action (tntptechaction@tntp.org)with the subject line: TAP in with TNTP.
    • If you do not see the email by 3:00PM (your time), please check your Spam or Junk folder.
    • The email will be sent to the personal email listed in Workday—this is usually a Gmail address for most staff.
  • SEPTEMBER 20 - SEPTEMBER 22, 6:59AM EST

  • All TNTP SYSTEMS ARE UNAVAILABLE. Okta has been decommissioned, and staff will no longer use Okta or Okta Verify to authenticate or to access apps and services.

  • SEPTEMBER 22, 7:00AM EST

  • GO-LIVE: Review the email thoroughly – do not start the process until 7:00AM EST. > The email will include a one-time Temporary Access Passcode (TAP) and step-by-step instructions you'll perform on September 22, on or after 7:00AM EST, to set up your new Microsoft password and configure MFA using the Microsoft Authenticator mobile app.
    • 💡The TAP will allow you to sign directly into your Microsoft 365 account following the decommission of Okta on September 22 without needing your previous Okta password or the Okta Verify app.
  • Follow the instructions in the email with fidelity on Monday, September 22, starting at 7:00AM EST to successfully create your new Microsoft password and configure MFA using the Microsoft Authentication mobile app. For the best experience, please use your TNTP-issued laptop.

    SEPTEMBER 23 AND ON

  • Staff will access cloud apps (such as Workday, SharePoint, OneDrive, Salesforce, Asana, and other Microsoft 365 apps) via the Microsoft My Apps dashboard page. If you prefer the desktop app experience, you can continue using the Outlook, OneDrive, Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint desktop apps.

What is not Changing

While the sign-in and authentication process is being updated and secured, your access to TNTP applications, files, and services will remain unchanged.

  • Your apps, files, and access are not changing — only the way you sign in and access your apps will differ.
  • All existing tools such as Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive), Workday, Salesforce, Jira, and Asana will continue to be available after the transition.
  • The TAP will allow you to access your Microsoft account without needing your previous Okta password or the Okta Verify app. The TAP is designed to modernize your initial sign-in process during the September 22 transition period.
  • Follow all instructions in the email on Monday, September 22 to complete your new sign-in and authentication setup. Once you're signed in, you’ll land on the My Apps page, where all your work apps, services, and tools are ready for you.
